Groups worked on a wide variety of issues ranging from the fall in bee populations to the rapid increase in the number of emerging infectious diseases. Thirteen UN SDGs were studied, mainly in the areas of the environment, education, and health.

Students overwhelmingly agreed that the project allowed them to acquire key systems thinking skills, notably problem formulation, complex system modelling and leverage point identification.

Students were also asked to reflect on the effectiveness of group processes. Almost all students reported that groups created respectful and productive virtual working environments.

Students also reported positive experiences with team processes for work organization, conflict resolution and group work.
